This is just a quick vlog of the food at the popular restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii called Rainbow Drive-In. There mixplate is like a sampler platter and great if it’s your first time at this place.
Let’s Talk About Strange Interview Questions & Hawaiian Food!
Let’s talk about strange interview questions and Hawaiian food, people! Doing job interviews can be very stressful! Even more so when the Interviewer asks a really strange interview question that youâre not prepared for! In todayâs video, I answer some pretty strange interview questions, some of which I honestly donât know how I would respond if I were asked these questions in a real interview. Good thing weâve got a healthy serving of Hawaiian food to keep us calm during this weird interview. Enjoy!

Hawaiian Food Explained: How Laulau is Made
Laulau: iconic to Hawaiian food, an irresistible package of pork and salted butterfish, steamed in luau and ti leaves. HONOLULU Magazine went inside Keoki’s Lau Lau, where 7,000 to 8,000 laulau are produced a day, to see how it gets made.

Join host Lucas Peterson on this weekâs episode of Dining on a Dime as he visits one of Oahuâs most respected institutions: Helenaâs Hawaiian Food. Taniokaâs is a local hole in the wall food spot in Waipahu, Hawaii, that Iâd been wanting to eat at for many years. Finally, we made the drive out to Waipahu (about 30 mins or so from Honolulu), ordered some food, and ate it on the beach.
Taniokaâs Seafood and Catering – Waipahu, Hawaii – Itâs a local Hawaii food spot, known for their takeaway bentos and lunchboxes, poke, and musubi. They also have a full cabinet of different deep fried things – like fish patties, tempura, and mochiko chicken. When you walk in, you immediately stand in line and pass through the line ordering whatever you see that looks good. One thing you can be certain of is that all their fish is extremely fresh. I was very excited, but itâs one of those places that you order a bunch of food, but you always feel like you missed ordering something important.
Hereâs most of what I ordered:
Spam musubi / deluxe spam musubi
Fish patties
Futomaki
Poke bowl with fried belly
Spicy ahi bento
Poi mochi
Total price – $67.90
Itâs not cheap at all, but itâs typical Hawaii prices.
After getting the bags of food, I wanted to go eat somewhere along the beach. Since I donât typically get out to the West Coast of Oahu very often, we decided to drive out to Kahe Point. The views were spectacular and we walked around for a little while, but there wasnât a good grassy area to sit, so we continued on to Ko Olina. Ko Olina is a resort and golf course area, which amazing calm lagoons and grassy areas, perfect to dig into a Hawaii beach feast from Taniokaâs!
