On day five evening we are ready for luau, the Hawaiian Cultural program with dinner. Highlight is the Kalua pig – slow cooked underground for hours.Part of the cultural program is the Samoan fire dance.
DAY6 started at 2:30 AM. We were all set for the Polynesian adventure shuttle to Haleakala peak for sunrise. It was pitch dark and very cold when we got there – a peak at 9740 feet. Only star in the dark sky was the very bright north star. You can see in the video how the color slowly changed and the sun came out with all its glory. It was amazing. OK
