Hawaii Volcano: Kilauea May REACTIVATE – Lava Pond Inside Fissure 8 Forms
Activity at Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has reduced, but residents are urged to heed warnings from authorities as two lava pond were observed during an flight over the region, with the US Geological Survey warning activity can re-occur “at any time.”
A lava pond has formed inside fissure 8 as the residents of Hawaii’s Big Island continue to cope with the daily re-occurrence of Kilauea’s ongoing eruption.
Eruptive activity has lulled, the US Geological Survey said, however this does not mean activity has ceased completely as scientists warn activity could “reactivate” at a moment’s notice.

Oahu Attractions – Waimea Falls
Travel journalist Veronica Hill of http://www.CaliforniaTravelExpert.com offers a guided tour of Waimea Falls and Waimea Valley in this Hawaii travel video.
Considered one of the best Oahu attractions, Waimea Valley is home to several ancient Hawaiian sites, including the Hale O Lono Heiau. This is also one of the most beautiful Hawaiian rainforests you’ll find.
But if it’s Oahu waterfalls you’re seeking — don’t miss a swim in the 45-foot Waimea Falls, which are free with park admission.
The Waimea Valley Falls were called Waihi by the natives, who settled here almost 900 years ago. The Waimea Falls hike is approximately 1 mile from the park entrance.
With more than 1,800 acres, Waimea Valley is home to more than 5,000 tropical plants in its Hawaiian botanical gardens— many of them quite rare. At the Hawaiian games area, you can play Hawaiian checkers, lawn bowling and other Maka-hiki activities. The park also hosts several guided hikes and Hawaiian activities throughout the year, so check their Web site for details.
Formerly know as Waimea Valley Adventure Park and Waimea Valley Audubon Center, Waimea Valley is now run by Hi`ipaka LLC.
Waimea Valley Grill serves up a nice mix of Hawaiian food, ranging from fresh ahi tuna burgers on taro buns to Pupukea salads, vegan taro burgers and Kalua pork plate lunches. The Acai smoothie is a nice way to beat the heat!
Currently Waimea Falls park admission is $13 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. The Kamaaina price is $8 for adults and $5 children and seniors.
Waimea Valley hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Waimea Valley park is located at 59-864 Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa Hawaii, just across from Hawaii’s famous Waimea Bay. Call (808) 638-7766 or visit them online at www.waimeavalley.net SUBSCRIBE! http://tinyurl.com/p2fveuj
