The DURIAN capital of the Philippines. Once I heard this I knew I had to make my way to Davao!

That being said, if I could find something with Durian in it, then you know I had to get a piece, bite, or drink of it today!

I started the day off at a fresh market where I enjoyed a light breakfast staple of puto maya and tsokolate. Talk about some real good hot chocolate!

Then I walked through the market going on an all out exotic fruit tasting adventure…and yes that includes some durian!

I headed back to the food area to try a Davao take on a Cebuano dish Balbakwa. Milky, salty, and cooked low and slow. Comfort food at its finest.

Then I needed a break from the heat so I headed to the best cafe in town, Lachi’s for their famous Sans Rival and then of course some Durian Cheesecake.

Lastly, I went out to the Roxas market to indulge in a grilled meat feast that left my pants feeling pretty tight. Of course I wondered around until I was able to find one more sweet treat for the day, which yes, had durian in it!

What an amazing and durian filled day! Really enjoyed Davao and all the durian it had to offer!
