Fast food is a type of mass-produced food designed for commercial resale and with a strong priority placed on “speed of service” versus other relevant factors involved in culinary science. Fast food was originally created as a commercial strategy to accommodate the larger numbers of busy commuters, travelers and wage workers who often did not have the time to sit down at a public house or diner and wait for their meal. By making speed of service the priority, this ensured that customers with strictly limited time (a commuter stopping to procure dinner to bring home to their family, for example, or an hourly laborer on a short lunch break) were not inconvenienced by waiting for their food to be cooked on-the-spot (as is expected from a traditional “sit down” restaurant). For those with no time to spare, fast food became a multibillion-dollar industry.

Describing food is not as easy as it would seem. How many ways can you say something was really tasty? You can compare a dish to a picture, a sports game, a musical performance or give it personality. Describe its sunny or somber mood, shyness, assertiveness, or contradiction of flavors. In this video, we take you on a food tour of Orlando and show you some of our favorite restaurants right now. These places all offer up some unique experiences that keep us coming back for more. If you thought Nashville hot chicken was only in Nashville, Tennessee then you are wrong! The first place we take you to is Chicken Fire! This place specializes in Nashville hot chicken inspired items and is a food truck! It’s located right behind A La Cart here in Orlando. In the video, we order the Hot Box and the spice level is medium! We washed it down with a beer from A La Cart as well. The second place we go to in the video is East End Market, and it’s one of Cory’s favorite places. We got there later in the day so most of everything was closed. Cory shares with you her cookie and lets you in on some BIG news here in Orlando. The last place in the video is Poke Hana and it’s located near Chicken Fire! This place offers up authentic Hawaiian dishes right here in Orlando. The people are friendly, the vibe is great and the food is even better. We recommend you get the garlic shrimp and one musubi. If you’re in Orlando for vacation, business, or live here then it’s definitely worth the drive to these places. One of my favorite things about Orlando is the food scene.
